OpenAI built Go as the step between Free and Plus. It gives more access to the everyday ChatGPT tools without charging for all the advanced headroom in Plus. For many people, that is enough.

That covers a lot of normal work: summarize a PDF, clean a spreadsheet, create images, keep client work in projects, schedule a task, or build a specialized GPT. Voice is included, but OpenAI says its usage limits are the same as the Free tier.

Go does not include legacy models, and some apps or advanced features require Plus or a higher plan. API usage is separate from every ChatGPT subscription.

I would start most individual users on Go. It includes enough of the useful product to reveal whether ChatGPT belongs in the workflow. Upgrade when the evidence is boring and specific: “I run this report every Friday, Go stops here, and Plus saves me 25 minutes.”
