Tool directory and community features

When you vote or save a tool, we store that choice with your account. Public profiles show aggregate upvote counts. Your saved collection is private to your account and site administrators.

Reviews are checked before publication. An approved review displays your account display name, rating, title, review text and date. The review display does not publish your email address. Please avoid putting private information in a review.

Tool submissions are stored with the submitting account for editorial review. A submission does not appear publicly until an editor publishes it. Contact us through the contact page to request a correction or help with your community records.

Accounts, makers and product communities

Google sign-in is optional. If you choose it, Google supplies the basic identity information needed to create or connect your MustHave account, including your name, verified email address and profile picture when available. The sign-in provider stores the account-link information needed to recognize you. MustHave does not receive your Google password and does not request access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files or contacts.

Your votes contribute to public aggregate upvote counts. Your saved collection and the list of tools you follow are private to your account and site administrators. A product profile may show its aggregate follower count. Signing in with Google does not verify that you own a product or grant permission to edit other listings.

Reviews, comments and discussion replies are moderated before publication. Approved contributions display your account display name, contribution text and date publicly. Reviews also display your rating. The community display does not publish your account email address. Please do not put private information in a public contribution.

Product submissions, ownership claims and proposed listing changes are reviewed by site administrators. Ownership evidence and pending changes are kept private. An approved claim gives the verified maker access to manage that product through the maker dashboard; the maker display name and verified-maker badge are then shown publicly. A submitted claim or a matching Google profile alone does not establish product ownership.

Logos and screenshots uploaded through the maker dashboard are stored privately while awaiting review. Only the authorized submitter, verified maker where permitted and site administrators can preview pending images. Approved listing images, captions and product information become public. Proposed changes to an existing public profile do not appear until an editor approves them.

You can contact us through the contact page to request help, a correction, or an export or erasure of your community records. WordPress privacy tools handle account and comment information. Maker-data erasure removes private pending images and releases verified ownership links. Account deletion also removes the account’s votes, saves and follows. Published editorial content and approved product images may remain; personal information in reviews and discussions is handled through the comment privacy tools.

Launch announcements and community reports

MustHave records the date of a new upvote so it can calculate recent community rankings. Older votes without a recorded date remain in all-time counts. Public ranking pages and website badges show aggregate vote counts, not voter email addresses or private saved lists. Removing your vote removes it from current counts. Activity export and erasure tools include vote records.

Launch requests are private while awaiting editorial review. Authorized makers and editors can submit or review the product title, announcement text, source link and proposed date. Approved announcements become public, including approved future dates labelled as scheduled. An export can include your launch requests. Erasure removes private requests and removes the account attribution from retained approved product announcements.

Reports about products, reviews or discussions are private moderation records. They contain your account association, the item reported, a reason and the details you provide. Authorized editors use them to review the problem. Reports do not automatically change public vote totals. Privacy tools can export your reports or redact their account association and details. Do not include passwords, identity documents, payment information or other sensitive information in a report.

A MustHave website badge is an image that links back to the relevant public product profile. It displays a listing label and current aggregate community votes. Its image request does not create a MustHave sign-in session or include account information in the badge. Ordinary hosting access logs may record image requests.

Tool comparison shortlist

The comparison feature keeps selected public tool IDs and names in this browser tab using session storage. You can clear the shortlist at any time. The site does not save this shortlist to your account. Closing the tab normally clears it, although your browser may restore it with a restored session.

A copied comparison link contains the selected public tool IDs. Anyone with that link can open the same public listings. The comparison does not contain your account details, saved tools, votes or private submissions.

Private tool collections

Named collections store their names, selected tool IDs, archive status and update information in your MustHave account. Collections have no public page or share link. Only your signed-in account can read or change them through the collection service. Authorized site administrators can access stored account data when needed to operate the site or handle privacy requests.

You can archive and restore collections. Archiving keeps their contents in your account. Creating a collection or adding a tool does not change your votes or Saved tools list. If a selected tool becomes private or unavailable, the collection hides its details. You can remove unavailable selections.

WordPress privacy tools can export or erase your named collections. Erasing collections does not erase votes or the separate Saved tools list. Deleting your account removes its collection data with the account metadata.

Public discussion discovery

Approved product discussions can appear in the discussion hub and on the homepage, as well as on their product profiles. These views show the public display name, discussion title, an excerpt, dates and approved reply counts. Pending messages, private account activity and conversations about unavailable or password-protected products are excluded.

MustHave.ai Chrome extension

Extension information updated November 4, 2026. The extension helps you discover AI tools, read news and keep a private shortlist. When you open its popup, Chrome provides the active page title and URL. Choosing Save stores the title, URL and save date in Chrome’s local extension storage on your device. The extension does not read the page body, monitor your browsing or send your active page or saved list to MustHave.ai. Saved pages do not sync to your website account.

The popup retrieves public product listings, descriptions, directory counts, article metadata and images from MustHave.ai. Public JSON feed requests omit website sign-in cookies and referrers. Images load from MustHave.ai. Ordinary hosting logs may record network connection information, including an IP address; the extension does not add analytics or tracking identifiers to these requests. Public feed data is cached locally for 15 minutes. Older cached data may be shown with an offline notice when a fresh request fails.

Saved pages remain locally until you remove them or uninstall the extension. You can remove individual saved pages in its Saved tab. The popup contains no advertisements, analytics, tracking pixels or remote executable code. Website pages you choose to open follow this website’s separate privacy and advertising practices. Website voting, comments and other member actions may require sign-in; the extension does not handle Google sign-in tokens or website passwords.

The extension uses activeTab for the active page title and URL after you open the popup, storage for the private shortlist and public feed cache, and host access limited to musthave.ai for public feeds and images. It does not request browser-history, broad tabs, content-script or identity permissions. For extension privacy questions, contact hello@musthave.ai.
